Default Need help guys

my wife has a 2003 Grand Cherokee and i just recently replaced the idle air control valve/ motor (IAC). The jeep is still dying out any input is helpful. (please note i am not very mechanically inclined so basic terms will help me.) Thanks

check engine light on? Any codes stoered? Take it to a autozone and have them read the codes for you

More info needed rjl is it a 4.0L or the 318V8 get that info up to help us help you. I sound like Jerry McGuire don't I?

Codes Codes Codes, get them checked, its free and doesnt take a long time at all. That should be your first move, from there we can provide you with a lot more assistance.

if you can not get to an autozone or similar to get teh codes, do teh key trick. Turn the key off-on-off-on-off-on and see what is deiplayed in your odometer display. Should be a series of P codes and then done. Or no codes if none are present. Do not go to start with the key just to on and it needs to be pretty fast between on and off.

Well at least is it a 4.0 or a 4.7 (287 V8) or a 4.7HO

my xj does that.. or did it can be thermostat, vacuum leak, throttle control, fuel , air anything i replace the icv, thermostat a vacuum hose, and tinkled with throttle.
