I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4wd V8 model with the 545RFE transmission. It drives fine for awhile but then it starts dropping into neutral while driving, seems do disengage at around 2krpm unsure what gear but around 40mph i believe, maybe 50. If i disable overdrive it doesnt seem to happen at 2k, but i didnt push it to far past 2k to find out. I'm not sure where to start and google is not helping with any ideas. I'm new to automatic transmission (problems) as my last 2 cars have been manual and I've never had an issue with my wifes automatic.

IDK about the 545RFE transmission, but check your instructions printed on the dipstick. Most Jeep transmissions say "Check fluid level while idling in neutral, hot". The level will be higher in park because the converter isn't being pressurized. One quart low could cause the pump to foam the oil and cause your problem. That transmission is largely electronic so a drop in pressure may be causing the solenoids to kick it into neutral while driving.
