Default Narrowing it Down

So, with my 96 Jeep Cherokee, the dash lights don't turn on when I turn the key, and it won't start. I have been checking the fuses and relays and everything is receiving proper voltage. However, I checked the wire connections to the ignition switch, and there is no power going through the big wire connection, but the connection that controls the door chime has power. Any suggestions?

Agreed. Pull out all your fuses and eyeball them, make sure none are blown. Replace it, and see if it blows again. If it does..find your short
