I have a problem everyone. I just returned from an 80 mile shopping trip w/fam. I own a 1994 jeep GC laredo 4x4 v8 5.2l. 40 mile into the trip I noticed my RPM's & MPH were matching and smoke coming from under the hood. I check tran fluid. It was low. So I added a quart. I finished shopping then began home. Jeep ran normal until 30 miles in. Then the same problem began once more. I live in the mountains so I had to continue home. I made it home after keeping my speed moderate. But once I neared home things got worse. Now my RPM sores when I accelerate but the jeep would only go 10 MPH ONLY If I gently accelerate. It stopped running in my driveway. I let it cool. Added the proper amount of fluid and tested her out. She wouldn't drive in either forward gears. It will ony reverse. Please tell me whats the fix for this problem. There are no burning sents anywhere .please help

What type of maintenance has this formerly trusty steed had?

Its had all scheduled maintenance done. Ive only had her for three yrs. And ive never serviced the tranny. It drove perfect till this happened. Could this be a linkage problem

Its pinkish red. With clean smell
