my jgc wont move

Default my jgc wont move

i have a 99 JGC. my jeep started to knock then the knocking started to get woest then it just stop moving. it will turn over butwhen i take it out of park and go to drive.. it start rattling and will not move.. what happen.. im completely lost. i want to get it fix but i dont know whats wrong with fetty wop (my jeep)

so is rattle from engine or tranny..?

It can't be my engine cause it still crank up and turn over so I guess it's my tranny

Might be a broken flex plate.

^^2X^^ OR lost torque converter bolts. My buddy had a Pontiac Firebird TransAm that only had 1 bolt driving it and it rattled like a baby rattle until the last one fell out!

But it would move with broken/missing flex plate/torque converter bolts, right? OP said vehicle will not move in drive.

If the center section of the flex plate was ripped out or ALL the torque converter bolts were gone, no it won't move. I don't think it would start if the flex plate was ripped out because the CPS wouldn't be giving a signal then and the starter wouldn't be turning the engine. You might also have a blown turbine inside the converter. My Chevy truck did exactly that.
