Moter swap

I've got a 97' XJ with 4.0 and would like to put it in a 95' grand cherokee will it bolt up if both are autos.

should be just fine. I put a motor out of a Manual trans wrangler into a Automatic cherokee. I had to swap over the flywheel and torque converter,... no other problems other than that

The '95 ZJ had a 4.0L also didn't it? You'll need to use the '95 sensors I believe.

just swap over everything from the orginal engine. Intake and all those sensors, exhaust, distrubutor, etc.
