Default Mom in desperate need of some help!

My son's 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee cranks but will not start and fuel gauge does not register. When we replace the blown 20 amp fuse it starts right up but then blows again after about 1 mile - seems to only blow when stopped at a light but that could be just a coincidence. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help!

Do you know what the 20 amp fuse is for?

Check the wiring to the O2 sensors and make sure they're not melted to the exhaust.

this, figure out what it goes to (owners manual will say). One option (not that this is the solution) sometimes a 25 amp will allow it to not blow til you find the problem, then back to a 20amp

Don't put a higher rated fuse in place of the 20amp, that is a good way to let the smoke out of the wires.

Find out what circuit that fuse is for and go from there.
