Default misfiring issue/camshaft sensor

I have a 97 grand Cherokee Laredo with about 195,000 miles. It started running really rough last summer. I took out to AutoZone for diagnostic. It came up bad camshaft sensor. I replaced it and it ran great for 4 or 5 months and then it started again. It would start misfiring at 2500rpms. I would have to slow to about 50mph and the rpm guage would settle and I could slowly come back up to speed. I replaced the sensor again and it ran fine. I could get up to 80mph at 2250 rpms. This morning it started missing again at idle. I'm thinking I should replace cap, rotor, plugs. Any other suggestions would be helpful. Thanks a bunch.

People who seem to know what they are talking about say to only use Mopar brand cam and crank sensors. If you replace the cap, get one with the brass contacts.

Yes, use Mopar parts on anything electrical, especially sensors. One other thing you can check is a worn out distributor shaft bearing. This will allow the gap between the sensor ring and the magnet to change and cause misfiring. Also, like Red River T said, don't use aluminum contacts on high voltage. They tend to burn up too quickly. Change the rotor as well.
