Master Cylinder Rebuild?
I'm a new owner, just got a '93 ZJ Laredo. When I'm stopped at a light the brake pedal slowly goes down as does the brake fluid level. I suspect a pinhole leak in the master cylinder, there is some paint peeling off the big drum thingy just behind the Mstr Cyldr and my mechanic said he couldn't find any leaks around the calipers. So my question is should I get a rebuild kit and try to rebuild it or just get a rebuilt Master Cylinder and stick it in? Also I read that there is a lifetime warranty on the Master Break seals and hydraulic pump motor and maybe a recall? How do I find out if this was done on my Jeep?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thats no way to get your questioned answered by insulting the forum. People do have day jobs and have things to do in their own lives and their own rigs.
To asnswer your question.. if you rebuild yours you have to be careful in identifying the reason your current Mc has a bleed down issue. You will have to find the reason the cups are no longer holding the pressure. Is there a rim that has been formed that cut the MC cups or something that caused a gouge that allows fluid to get past them under pressure? Are the cups just worn and hard?
Did you try to bleed the brakes or your Mechanic and this issue showed up? Why would you ask about rebuilding it if youve had it to the mechanic.
Honestly I would just put in a rebuilt. If you had issues checking for a leak then I would say that it would be wiser to just buy the rebuilt and have your Mechanic put it in so that you wont have to insult the people who are here and have helped alot of people with their problems. Also You might find the thread search feature useful. Make use of it , thats why its there.... Im sure theres a topic or two just like yours already.... Have a nice day and good luck.
