My wj makes a loud clank that sounds like its coming from the front differential when its in 4 lo. I havent had a vehicle do this before so I have no idea where to start. Im hoping its just low on fluid but Its dark atm and I unable to check. Any ideas?

And on the cv axle, im replacing the one on the passenger side. I ordered one from oreillys and it was too long, I thought that the quadratrac II had vari lock and that is thw one I ordered but as I said it was too.long, so I ordered the axles with selec trac because they seem to be the correct length. Any idea why it would be like that?

 

And the clank isnt just a one time thing. It constantly does it.

 

Ok...i just did a lil research and now im confused on if I have vari lock axles or not.....i really got find me someone local to help me with this crap lol

 

I think I found the clunky noise, I checked my tcase fluid and it was hardly any at all in it and the little that it has is very.very very black. Hopefully it will act right when I put the.new fluid in there.
