Default rear end

ok so i've searched and searched and search but i can't find anything.. is there any other complete rear end (i.e. different make) that i can use on my 93 zj or am i limited to zj's? and if i have to modify i don't want to do anything serious.

thanks in advance.

since you have a 93 which only came with a D35 rear, you can upgrade to a 96-98 D44a that came in V8 models. much stronger and bolts right in. sure it has an aluminum center housing and doesnt have much aftermarket support, but if you can get one for $150 or so, it bolts right in and would be a cheap upgrade for you.

whats you're reason for changing it out? and im sure one of us OK guys would give you a hand with any cutting/ welding you would need to do if you went with something different. Theres a few of us that have the right tools for a job like that.

do you really need a reason to get rid of a D35?

Well the c clip in it got ultra thin when my parents were driving it and and wore out the slot it was in. It was so bad that if it would have gone any further then the axle would have slid right out. Well when we checked the ring and pinion it was shot. So he give it to me and I'm putting a new rear end in it. So I can drive and go wheeling in it. I wouldn't mind doing some cutting and welding I would just need some one that has a lil more fab experience than me

Just go to a pull a part salvage and get the guts out of another D35 and put them in there. since you're still stock it should be good until you start going bigger tires and a big lift. Mine is at 5 inches of lift with 31s and i wheel it semi hard and haven't had any problems out of mine. i am putting a 8.8 out of a ford ranger in it though cause im going up in tire size. Where in OK are you? I have plenty of D35s but im in Tulsa.

yeah, you and a bunch of other people. it starts getting weak when you go bigger tires and add a locker. an open diff D35 will be fine for daily driving and light wheeling.

I'm in vinita I'm going to lkq in Tulsa on Saturday. Hopefully thy have what I need or better. I'm wanting to get a 3.5 and 31's or 32's. I have four 2 in spring spacers so I can put that on real quick and go to 31's. If I remember right.
