Locking and Unlocking
Issue 1.
On our Gr Cherokee Ltd (2003) the locking / unlocking has always been temperamental.
Both keys with new batteries, and the vehicle fully charged, often we are stood looking like berks pressing the fob and walking around the front until the thing decides it will lock or unlock.
We have privacy glass as the wife likes the gangster look and this may be affecting the signal ?? I am guessing that the receiver is the LED pod on the dash ??
Can any one suggest a way to improve the sensitivity for easier locking / unlocking ?
Is it possible to add some style of antenna perhaps ?

By privacy glass do you mean the factory tint, or has it been added? My '04 has the factory privacy glass. We bought it new, and you always had to be within 50 feet for the key fob to to work. The last couple of years though, it does work better if you point it up under the bottom of your chin. No joke. I think your skull acts like an antennae.
You might want to try reprogramming the remotes. This will tell you how. >http://www.ehow.com/how_5950665_rese...-cherokee.html

Thanks for the thoughts.
The tint is fairly dark, if factory fit I can't be sure as we bought the Jeep several years old.
I've used the head as antenna trick some years ago for a BMW, never occured to me to try for this one though. If it makes a good difference maybe I can add some wire to the fob ??
I'll try the reprogramming, if nothing else it will illiminate that as a cause.
