Ive sanded, buffed, and polished my WJ headlight lenses repeatedly.
Time to renew.
Installed new set of Headlite clusters on the 02 WJ
$141 cdn, taxes in, delivered (arrived on 3rd day)
Prime Choice Auto parts
Came with all bulbs installed and full new harnesses.
Take care in plugging in the harnesses to insure full insertion and the slide lock clicks in.
Very happy with the package.
Our WJ is a Laredo, got the lites for a Limited, lots more reflector.
No more foggy lenses.
Now need a set for the 95ZJ
Makes one appreciate the lost quality of sealed beam glass lenses of my XJ.

Nice. Always wondering how much upside is left on my stock lenses. Time for a change.

I bought mine from rockauto.com several years ago and looking up the company that made them, found out they were Chinese, HOWEVER they are 3 years old now and the bulbs are just now starting to go out 1 by1. When delivering my newspapers, the high beams are on most of the time so it's amazing they lasted that long.
ONE THING! Do not dry wipe them! They scratch very easily.
I bought a pair of amber fog lights from Amazon (Chinese) and the bulbs lasted 2 days! I replaced them with Hella and they lasted over 1 year. Again, I use them when delivering most of the time.

ooh, i like those, peep.
might just have to get a set for my wj, once i figure out the no key problem.
may be more than twice what i paid for the jeep, but having the brightest, cleanest lights is justifiable.

I'm telling ya, they make a hell of a difference. I can see reflectorized signs at 1/2 mile and deer eyes at 1/4 mile! I can't ask for much more. I polished my originals, but found the plastic itself was crazed. no amount of polishing was going to fix that.

new lights was the first thing i purchased after picking up my jeep. i found a set on ebay with bulbs for 30 bucks. i did lens polishing in the past and it does not seem to last that long, perhaps a year or two before the lenses go dull again.

The problem is the polycarbonate needs a protective coating that you remove when polishing. Maguire makes a package polishing kit that includes this coating, but that's the only place I've seen it available. I've polished steel to a diamond finish as part of my job and lenses are the hardest to do because the material is so soft. Think about how critical the finish on the molds that make those lenses are!
As I said, when polishing mine, when I got to the last stage, I saw the plastic itself was completely spiderwebed with tiny cracks. It was useless to continue. What a waste of effort!
My replacement units are just now starting to show a slight cloudiness from impacted airborn grit. I guess I'll be buying a Maguire's kit in the spring.
