Default lifting my zj

ok i am in the process of doing a f/r swap and using either ranger 4" lift springs or 79 bronco spring for the new front springs...but they are all the same height....the zj has 9 wraps and the fords have 11 wraps each.is this going to lift it or do i need to figure something else out? its a 5.2 zj....
here are the springs.....

The Ford Bronco coils will ride like a dump truck.. several have tried the Bronco/F series without much love.

this might be a dumb question, but your ZJ isn't an upcountry is it?

I think the upcountry shocks had a light blue color to it. I'm not sure.

the only reason Im asking is because the upcountry gives the Laredo a 3" lift just stock. The upcountry version has longer springs and shocks compared to other stock ZJ's. That's why your stock coils would look the same size as those ranger coils??? Just a thought.

Upcountry suspension uses sachs-boge German gas shocks.

Hey does your ZJ have the tow hooks on the front? Upcountry suspension also came with those tow hooks.

And remember I was just thinking out loud about the upcountry. You might not even have the upcountry. I'm just as confused with your ZJ, ranger, and bronco coils as you are. I'm curious to see what you find.

Nice man thanks for the update. Damn that ZJ looks good. So are you just swapping out the springs? Any control arms or anything?

My own experience with Ranger springs. I have 6" Skyjacker brand coils in the front my Ranger and they are horribly stiff. Any of the springs for TTB trucks are stiffer than hell. On the order of 400+ Pounds per Inch. Last I saw, ZJ V8 Upcountry springs are on the order of 280-300...

Lift springs for Rangers don't flex well at all...

'Nuff said... And yes, the front swaybar IS disconnected. Granted, my Ranger is just a 2.3L 4 banger, but there is almost no flex in that front suspension.

Even the Ranger guys switch to XJ/ZJ/TJ lift springs for more flex.
