Welcome to the forum.
That is it? Not also having a bad hair day, or also stubbed your toe?
Why not update your profile to ID the vehicle?
The Grand Cherokee has a wide model year range and many different requirements for the key fob.
It is very unlikely that any model year will permit a replacement key fob to be paired w/ a dead battery.
The typical process is to get a replacement fob, then follow a procedure to pair that fob to the vehicle, usually with all fobs being paired present, so all prior fobs are removed from being paired and all fobs present are now paired.
It is unlikely that any model year will permit remote pairing.

Seems to me you can unlock it with the key, charge the battery, then see if it will allow you to start it.

Dorman (an aftermarket auto parts manufacturer) sells the keyfob at AutoZone and an OBD programmer if you have a '99 or newer XJ. It's about $80 (at least for my 2002 WJ Grand Cherokee). If they don't have it at your local store, they can order it for you. That's the only way I can think of. You will still be able to unlock your Jeep with the key in the door, and lock it with the button on the door panel, but if you have the factory security alarm system, it WILL cause the alarm to go off every time you unlock the Jeep with the key in the door, unless you push the manual lock on the door instead of pressing the button, which arms the system. To disarm it, you'll simply start your Jeep, and the horn will stop.
