Default Just got used jeep, pretty but WTF!!

Got it from local Honda dealer, the happen to sell use cars too.
The took the long sweet time cleaning it, they did a good job on that.
Also they filled er up with gas! It rides fine, I took it home then to friends but it starts to say check guages and at the same time engine coolent temp guage went redline really it was about at 250. Pop hood and see that the white coolent only box is slightly bouncing around the water in it looked like it wanted to boil over. Let it cool down open coolent and radiator cap and it's all water sandy rusty lookin! Eff the dealers for that. So question, what to do? Flush it? Not really sure what to do so I'd appreciate any info.

i had the same crap....looks like moab mud?

i flushed the crap out of mine...8 times...and it still had a reddish tint. put 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water and could see the red....ran it for 2 weeks like that and flushed it again.......now it flushes clear. i would suggest you get some cleaner to run through it and leave the cleaner in there for a day of driving then flush it out and fill with 50/50 mix. that way you shouldnt have to flush it as many times as i had to!!!

It happened on the way back from buying it? I would have taken it right back.

Cool

Years ago we would just cut into the heater hose line and install a flush kit that was made by the prestone company. While you are at I would strongly recommend you replace the thermostat as well.

Seed is right! Did you get one of those tail light warranties? "when they no longer see the tail lights it is out of warranty"

you may want to replace the thermostat as well. a water new water pump for $50 may be worth the piece of mind. at least you'll know what you have, and may save you from another boil over.

for the money you may sleep better at night

i got hosed when i bought my jeep too.
though i got a deal, but just got what i payed for.

if you can take it back do it. if not take it as a lesson learned.
(thats what i tell my self so i dont the guy that suck it to me.)

if the dealer left it like that do you really want them back under the hood.
