Default Jerky ride

I have a 2003 GC lerado with the 5.7l engine. I just started noticing a jerky ride at speeds under 35mph. I've searched a bit, but turned up nothing. Any ideas?

I'm going to guess this is a death wobble issue. I'm gonna start by replacing the steering stabilizer and see what that does.

Don't do that. That will only mask the real issue. Check your alignment, make sure your wheels are balanced and check your bushings.

"Jerky" usually refers to forward/back motion, like the rpm surging or brake pulsing. If that is your issue its not death wobble, which is side to side.

The jerking motion is front to back, so I'm thinking it maybe a drivetrain issue. It only does it on occasion so it's hard to pin point. Have there been other accounts of this happening. If so, any possible solutions. Ive also pondered over the idea that there maybe something up with the TCU and tranny.

Did you just lift it? How long since an alignment?

My rig sits on stock suspension, no lift. I have no idea when the last alignment was.

Forget about the alignment. This sounds like a driveline issue. At 35 mph, your engine is sort of floating between drive and coast. It sounds to me to be a ring and pinion backlash issue. Is this constant 4wd or Selectrac?

Very interesting. This jeep is the constant 4wd model. Ill plan on checking the backlash when I change the fluid in the next few days. Could a driveline u joint also cause this?
