Default Jeep ZJ 5.2L vacuum line(?) is broken

I have a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 5.2L. Recently I realized small brittle hose running from near the firewall to the engine that was broken. It appears to be attached to another hose that goes around to the other side of the block. Before I replace anything, does anyone know what the part is called?

Is it just snapped in that one place?
Is it plastic?
Did you paint over the rest of the plastic line to the right of the circle?
If so just get a piece of hose in the appropriate size and splice it together.
Chances are it would only be a boneyard or Craigslist part out find anyway.

I circled the ‘hose’. It snapped off in place. I drew a little line to the valve covers, which is where it is suppose to extend to. I can’t tell if it’s plastic or vinyl but thank you for the recommendation. I will look into splicing since I have both ends.

I cut a couple feet of rubber hose and placed it over the silicone. Works fine so far, though I haven’t got it smog tested.
