Not sure why but every oil change I do my ZJ takes 6 quarts and that puts the oil level in the middle of the dipstick safe zone. I know the 5.2 is a 5 quart engine so I am confused. Anyone have any knowing as to why? Possible it's a high capacity oil pump?

It's my understanding that since the beginning of time, Mopar engine's oil pans hold 5 qts PLUS whatever it takes to fill the oil filter. The dipsticks are marked to round it off.
