Okay I've been having problems with this thing just shutting off on me. My check engine light came on the other day and basically it was 1 of 5 different things. I started by cleaning the air filter. I had to wash it 3 times cause black stuff just kept coming out. Well after all that I put it back together and my check engine light went off Whoo hoo. Well now if I run the ac it shuts off. But that is the only time it shuts down. So could my ac be leaking on a wire or something. I was also told it could be my throttle positioner or something like that. I don't know. Any help?

 

Mine did the same 2 days ago. Any accessory that robbed power would stall the engine. I went to autozone about 2 hours ago and bought a new TPS and IAC and the jeep is running fine now.

 

I could be the IAC (idle air control) motor not adjusting the engine RPM when the A/C clutch kicks on and causing the engine to stall. Hate to tell you this, but I don't think cleaning the air filter fixed the check engine light.
