Default Interior fishing rod holder?

For the life of me I cannot come up with a good idea for rod storage- My old suv had 4 "grab" bars so straps between those worked excellent but cherokee only has 2.
Cannot attach anything to roof liner as it is to flimsy and same for the plastic trim pieces. I thought I had solved with a adjustable shower curtain holder going from window to window but the glass is not flat so I broke the damn rod trying to tighten it.

Anyone come up with something that works? I often take 6 rods so space is critical.........

I think if you pulled the headliner down you get a better view of the braces that support the roof and where you could actually mount something. It's not just one long piece of thin metal.

Just a quick thought you could mark where 4 of these need to be installed. Put the headliner and trim back in and install them with self tapping screws

Then use one of those strap holders

30 bucks and a little time and effort.

Edit: Just noticed you have a ZJ but I'd guess the roof support isn't that different.

Hmmm never thought of pulling off the headliner and really dont want to as I am sure it will never be the same but may give that a try. Just need to mount those handles and I am golden! Thanks for the great idea!
Now I need to search for liner removal.........

The headliners are pretty easy to get down and you probably wouldn't even need to take it completely out. Two might be enough sense you already have two grab handles.

My 2 rods come apart in the middle and I used a rear window gun rack for a pickup truck under the side glass moulding. I found I had to add a couple of screws to hold the plastic from popping off though. The side glass is short and the reels stuck out into the passengers window area which was a PITA.
