improper door alignment
when i close my driver side front door, its misaligned.. sagging when closed.. i can grab the door and pull it upwards into alignment, so apparently there is play in the hinges... what do y'all think this could be? broken bushing?.. maybe loose bolts?

Could even be that someone installed one of the hinges a little off. Occasionally someone will just unbolt a door from the jeep to drive around doorless instead of converting it the right way. Once a door is removed it can be a real task to get it aligned back up properly.
Mine did the same thing as you described. 96 gc. Upon inspection the PO had a broken hinge that was never addressed. The continued use destroyed the bushings & possibly alittle to damage to the pins which doesnt matter, because mine are pressed in & I have to cut the old ones out & replace anyways. Also the new top pin will install from the bottom which requires a pin that can accept a c-clip to hold it in place. That replacement is listed for a dodge truck @ my parts store. Product is made by Help-#38423(.373 dia.) I believe & #38422(.371 dia.) btm. pin. Check yours out to see what you have & make sure all of your bolts etc. are all good & not the problem. Search threads on here for more info & how-to. good luck.
these doors have electronic mirror adjustments, locks, and windows.. so not easy to take these doors off.. hinges both seem to be installed properly and i dont believe i see any signs of a bent hinge... ill check later to see if i can tighten the bolts further, and see if i can find evidence of a broken bushing later

mine does the same thing. soundsl ike the hinge pins are worn out. seems to be a common problem from what i can find.

my guess is that the bottom hinge is either broken or the weld has broken off of the frame. If this is true you will be able to tell easily when looking at it, you just gotta look at the right spot. If it is broken id say you got a week tops before the door falls off completely
you can tell the difference between a jeep thats been used without doors, and offroad, this thing has been a babies grocery getter for most its life and i know the previous owners, i myself wont be using this jeep offroad either, just a few minor things i need to fix, nothing which prevents it from being used, just little fixes here and there itll be 100%
but not to make any of you grand cherokee people too angry, i do intend to get a wrangler within the next year

i did some closer investigation of my door hinges, and it does appear that in fact the bushings rusted out, and were then crushed... so when more important matters are taken care of, installing new bushing and pins on the driver side door is on my list
for a possible quick fix, you can raise the latch (part on the body that the door catches. Its two torx bolts and the piece can be raised so the door wont have to be picked up.
