I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with keyless entry. The range sux. I have to be standing right beside the Jeep and push the button several times to work. I've read that you can extend the antenna on the RKE to increase range. Where is it located? Is it behind the passenger door panel or incorporated into body control module underneath driver side dash? Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated. Also , AC and heat will only blow out top and bottom. Will not blow out vents unless i pull up on lever manually under dash. How can I fix this?

 

I thought it was that antenae behind the rearview mirror.
mine sucks to on the 04. I was wondering if my battery was getting bad in it. My Dodge truck one works from much farther away then this piece. Hopefully you find an answer then I will as well.

 

try changing the battery in the fob

 

I found out how to get it to open at farther distances. Hold the key fob up to close to your forehead when you press the button. You can gain twice the distance. When a guy told me that I laughed, thought he was trying to make fun of me. I tried and sure enough it worked. Seems the myth busters tested this and thats how he found out. Of course still don't make sense these fobs suck so bad.
