Hi All. 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee was parked for a minute and I have evicted rodent nest of the cabin air filter box/outside air C shaped "snorkel" that is bolted to the firewall. Had to remove cowl, wipers, blower motor etc. When I pulled the cabin air filter out, a significant amount of white insulation came out, in addition to finding more in the engine bay.

QUESTIONS:
  1. Can some help identify the source of the insulation? It appears to be very fluffy almost like sound deadening material.
  2. I have read people comment about dash insulation but inspected inside the upper dash and throughout the vehicle and I do not see any evidence the rodent made it past the filter box -- didn't even make it past the filter. It appears to have been brought in from outside. Are there sound deadening insulation pads in the fenders or elsewhere?
  3. Read about rear quarter panels being entry point as well -- I see online pictures of a sound deadening pillow rear right -- any clue if this is same material or darker filling?
