Heater & Aircon Motor stopped working - help!
I have a 2006 Grand Cherokee Overland and today I turned the aircon on and the fan kicked in as normal but something sounded like it was catching in it. I turned the aircon off and just turned the heater fan on and it did the same thing so I turned it off again. Now when you turn it on...nothing!
I'm assuming the motor has gone or could the fuse have blown?
Can anyone help as I am not sure where to start and not having ac or the heater working isnt going to help as the weather in the Uk at the moment is a bit unpredictable
Many Thanks

There is a fuse and a relay for the blower motor, they are both in the fuse box under the hood on the LH side. Fuse #1 40amp, and the relay should be labeled on the cover. You could have a blown fuse or faulty relay, but with the mentioned noise, it sounds like the blower motor has failed. You can swap the relay for another for a temporary test. With the mentioned noise you either had some debris get in the blower motor wheel, or a bearing in the blower motor went out.
If you had a test light you can check the wires at the blower motor. The green wire should have power when the blower motor is commanded on, the black wire is the ground.

Thanks. The problem rectified itself. I think pine needles had blocked but it has cleared and is working fine again!
