Engine: 4.0 Petrol
Hand brake / Parking brake broken
Went to the shops yesterday in my 2000 WJ 4.0, arrived home and pulled the handbrake lever up and the front cable broke :-(
This is the cable from the lever to the part under the rear seat where the 2 other cables join.
The part which broke is the round 'pin' at the end of the cable where it fits in to the lever.
Is this tricky to replace ? Looks like the seat and carpet has to come out so possibly a simple job but expensive for a garage to do ?
There is a coiled spring on the lever - does the loop at the end go round the end of the cable when fitting a new one ?
New part on order, should arrive tomorrow.
