Cool GREMLINS in the WJ WIRES? 4.0 WJ !!!!!!!

OK, this one is wild! So, I brought my 99 WJ into my garage from the barn to rebuild the brakes and the fuel lines (elbow at filter had a crack). Got all that done, then went to fire it up, and I had to boost it due to the trash battery it had. So I jumped it, and suddenly the ASD was buzzing (relay). I replaced that, no buzzing, but still no fuel. So, I swapped the fuel pump relay out with the wiper motor (same relay), and the fuel pump still wouldn't run. I then noticed the 30A box fuse was blown, so swapped that with the TCM to test. No, the FUEL PUMP WILL STAY ON - but never goes off, and the gauges do not see a connection to the pump (gauge stuck at empty even with fuel)... now, something else I saw, the alternator/volts gauge is reading 6 volts, but the battery is 12.5 and it's steady on all the grounds I could find.

I feel like there is a ground or a bad sensor somewhere? Or, is there possibly another fuse that would be holding the pump open but not returning the feedback? I'm no genius in this field, not illiterate, but some of y'all are way smarter in this than I.

I know the fuel pump relay was bad, the pink box fuse for fuel pump was bad, and the ASD was bad. So it's like the circut was blown all the way thru, but I can't find where else to check?

ALso, I have a 4.0 wrangler also, and from the wiring I see, everything seems to be very similar to the WJ and has the same voltages on the components under the hood on both.

Hey! Ok so I got it. Wanted to jot down what I did so that the next guy can hopefully have a successful venture. After replacing the Fuel pump relay, ASD relay, the 30A pink box fuse for the ASD, the battery, and cleaning all the grounds. I was still getting bad voltage in the cluster, but good voltage to the engine components, prior to hitting the cluster. I went a little deeper and found ANOTHER DANG FUSE! it's a 10A ASD fuse. That fuse was blown. Swapped it out and the engine came alive. Still got some codes and such to sort out but it's getting fuel and spark and will crank up now. Looks like I blew the entire circuit line and luckily every single relay and fuse did it's job and blew.

The PCM Battery fuse (not ASD)... that was the one that was blown. It's in the engine fuse block. Now it all makes sense.

Thanks - Happy jeeping!
