Grand Cherokee vs Grand Wagoneer Towing Capacity
I currently own a 95 Grand Cherokee 5.2 with 3:73 gears. I am using it to tow other Jeeps which I disassemble and sell the parts. I absolutely love the Grand Cherokee but feel it is to much to ask for it to tow other Jeeps on my car trailer. I have the opportunity to pick up an 88 Grand Wagoneer with a 360 engine and Dana 44 axels. Which vehicle will work better for towing my loaded car trailer. Any information will help. Thanks Jeep guy Don

The bigger '88 should handle towing the weight better as long as the tranny and brakes are up to snuff. It definitely needs a trans cooler if it's an auto. JMO

the '88 will definately be the better tow platform...
5000+lbs, 2bbl carb and heavy axles... look for 10-14mpg unloaded/no trailer depending on condition/tune of the vehicle.
