Default Premium sound install kit

Just bought an 02 wj and I am wanting to put a new head unit in and the install kits I've seen so far all say not for premium sound. Is there a special harness I need? If so, any links would be appreciated. I'd prefer not to have to run all new speaker wire. Thanks in advance.

Default using alotta gas all of a sudden

99 GRANDCherokee 4.0L
Last week i put $40 on Wednesday n had to fill up again on friday. I drive about 60mi per day. So i decided no arco next week. So different fuel with same problem for 1 1/2days. On my way home, it went back to normal usage and I noticed my rpm at only 2 going 70mph(usually at 3000) there's no smoke or noises, no rough idle.
Now probably doesn't hv anything to do with it, but I've had a string of unfixed electrical problems-driver window didn't work when bought. Then left signal works when it wants. Now only rear driver window works n power locks went out at same time(only locks driver door). All fuses are good. also ABS Light is now on.
Probably need to change main window motor, but worried about this fuel. I live in los Angeles, can't a half a tank a day!

Welcome to CF!

It sounds to me like for some reason you were locked out of 4th gear (O/D) and now it works. 3 grand is about right for 3rd gear at 70. There are several reasons for this, not the least of which is the button on the side of the trans shifter. There should be a light on the dash indicating O/D is locked out, but that may not be working. Another reason might be the temperature sensor (thermistor) in the transmission not functioning properly. This is sometimes due to the fluid level being low or the transmission overheating. You may also have a loose connection in the shift solenoid pack.

Yes, 3rd gear at 70 mph WILL burn large amounts of gas!

Default CD Player Bracket for 2000 laredo

Hello, i was wondering if any of you guys knew where i could find a correct cd player mount bracket, single din, for a 2000 grand cherokee laredo 2wd. I have tried two metra brackets advertised to fit it and even if i were to cut pieces off they wouldnt fit . This is of course for an aftermarket pioneer cd player. Thankyou in advance for any help u can provide!

Hey just got a 2000 Grandcherokee WJ. And I'm putting a new jasper complete 4.0 and was wondering if putting stainless steel headers on right off the bat or after break in would be better to do. Also considering a power chip as well. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. Jeep on!

Bad question 😑 all jeeps pretty much come stock with a good enough header( atleast good enough to keep over the few gains I've found from other for the price ) and still haven't found out yet but I'm starting to get the feeling that a programmer might just ruin my warranty anyways ...

The 4.0 is just about maxed out on performance in stock form. The major problem with it is the valve ports are small and any attempt to make them larger causes the head to crack. Witness the 0331 head! The WJ comes with a split cast iron header because the old one piece steel one used to crack. It's designed to make max torque at 4000 rpm and cranking it faster just shortens it's life. The older model engine was cammed for max torque at 3000 and re-camming it didn't make much difference. All the improvements made to the 4.0 in 99 resulted in a whopping 10 hp gain! A waste of time. You can gain that much just eliminating the clutch fan! It was designed for torque which is what you want in the dirt.

You can do whatever you want to it, just don't expect much. JMHO.

Default 2010 Grand Cherokee Hemi 5.7

Hi guys...

Im currently driving a 2001 XJ running perfectly with only one major electric issue that was later solved...

I am now in search to upgrade to a WK and found this car with a milege of only 7,000 kilos!! But the thing is the car was parked for so long at least 5 straight years...

I wanted your opinion and advice regarding this opportunity considering its price... I know I'll definitely have to invest in new tyres, new belts and oils... But overall should i go for it or not?? Im really excited about it yet worried from buying a car parked for so long...

Also noting that my job requires a lot of traveling and offroad driving so i really cant afford any breakdowns nor unexpected expenses...

Please advice...

Well that's a big plus in my mind. If you don't feel comfortable evaluating it yourself pay a mechanic $50-100 to check it out. His report may help you negotiate fairly.
