i need to know where the bolts are supposed to go on the oil pan i replaced the gasket but didnt keep the bolts in order new to working on my jeep i only know where the 4 bigger bolts go not the rest. also i need to know the order in which i have to tighten the bolts

I've never had the oil pan off on my 4.0, but I have done a head change. I think the trick is find out where the brackets are that mount something like the trans cooler lines and other stuff are and use the extended stud bolts there. I'd start by SNUGGING up all the bolts starting with the center 2 and working both ways from the center in pairs, then finally tightening them the same way. My valve cover gasket had hard buttons around the bolt holes to prevent crushing the cover, but make sure your pan is flat and not distorted around the bolt holes. My book says for the small ones, torque is 120 in/lbs and the big ones are 156 in/lbs.
