How do you hotwire the fuel pump to see if its working?

Replaced crank sensor, relays, pcm, battery, fuses.

Thanks

Do you have an FSM? I would assume that you gain access to the pump and then apply 12v to the power in (sorry, at work right now so I don't know the pumps pin-out) and see if the pump primes, if not then you're pump is bad if it does then your relay/wiring is bad.

No I have a clymers, not very good.

I jumped the orange and black wire to no avail. The other three are small and I am assuming they go to the sending unit, but not sure.

Thanks

Remove the Fuel Pump relay.
Insert a jumper wire into the contacts that correspond to relay pin numbers 30 and 87.
Turn the key on/engine off
Listen for the pump

And make sure you've got a good fuse in place for the fuel pump as well.

First off thanks guys.

Now I jumped it and no pump action.

Could the auto shut down relay keep the pump from working?

Thanks

Mine has an auto shutdown relay that cuts power to the fuel pump when it senses trouble. Manual says through the can or crank sensor or a faulty pcm.

The ASD relay sends power to the primary side of the fuel pump relay. If you jumped 30 & 27 you jumped the Secondary side of the relay bypassing the ASD. You need to go back to the fuel pump and check for B+ and Ground. Also with 30 and 27 jumped bang on the fuel tank. If the pump starts to run then replace it

Thanks for the quick help guys. Beating on the tank while relay jumped confirmed the fuel pump is bad.
