I was wondering if any one has ever had a problem with the CV front drive shaft on there GC? The one in my wifes has gone out 2 times since we have had the jeep. Basically less than 3 months.

 

how do you know when they go out

 

It makes a cluncking noise and the 4wheel drive stops working. Basically the shaft spins inside free of the ball bearings. Other than the clunck with my wifes jeep you notice that it roles in park. It has the 249 all wheel drive t-case. I'm thinking its time to put the extra 242j t-case i have in it and convert over to a regular u joint drive shaft.
If I remember I will try to get some picks of it tomorrow and post them up.

 

yeah mine is full time all wheel drive and when i turn at slow speeds it makes a poping sound and i wasnt sure if it was the drive shaft or the control arm

 

mine does that to and i heard that the t case calles that

 

oh so is it something i need to be worried about
