Front Axle Replaced......now won't shift into 1st

Yesterday I had the passenger front axle replaced after tearing a boot. Freezing cold here in NJ. Drove it home 5 min no problem.

Woke up this morning, 20 degrees and drove it to get some coffee, about a 12 min drive. 12 min drive back as I am pulling into my place it seems like it won't go into 1st gear or something. Sounds like the tranny might be slipping. I don't believe in coincidences .......any ideas? 2008 JGC 3.7 with the NAG1 tranny. Seems like today is the first time the tranny got to operating temp. Tranny fluid changed 40k miles ago and is up to level.

Also, not throwing any codes, no check engine light.

Just checked Google and Youtube and notice they say there is a pressurized rubber seal that presses into the diff and should be replaced along with the axle. I don't see a charge for this on my online receipt so they did not do this. Could this be the problem?
