Default Front axle option

I've just been told, maybe falsely, that the TJ Rubicon D44 front axle is a bolt in swap for the wimpy D30. However, it's 4.11 gears. IDK if there are other gearsets available.

TJ axles are setup the same as XJ/MJ axles. So it will bolt in. The Rubi axle is basically a D44/30 hybrid. IIRC, any D44 gearset will work? What size tires are you running? Are you able to get the Rubi axle for cheap? If so, get it regear the rear to match. and there you go.

I'm just passing on information. The question was asked if there is a stronger option for front axles, so I asked my military friends. The Rubi was their answer. IDK much about the TJs except they're coil spring like the XJ,ZJ. I wasn't even aware the tread width was right.

It would be a direct swap. Unless your running 35s or even larger I wouldn't bother.
the rubi 44 does come with factory air lockers which are nice

This. The price tag isn't worth what you're getting.

With these military guys, price doesn't seem to be a factor. A lot of them are running 37's and 4.88 gears.
