Recently my GC just started sputtering after installing a new exhaust manifold. The old one had a leak so i replaced it. My GC ran perfect before replacing exhaust. When i took it for a drive it started to sputter and almost stall out. I had a mechanic look at it, do a fog test and hook up a computer. It came up with vacuum leak. All in all it ended up being the canister purge valve solenoid which i just had a feeling it needed to be unpluged. Went to autozone and bought a new one for 36 bucks. Spitting and sputtering is all gone. Easy way to check if it is bad is if it is tapping and when you unplug the vacuum hose the motor runs fine. It's located near the air box mounted to the quarter panel. Easy fix and it's cheap. Read a bunch of treads and did not really find answer. So this is one way to fix if your having trouble.
