First steps to rehab a 2000 Grand Cherokee
Just purchased a 2000 Grand Cherokee 4WD V-6 with 155000 mi, from a neighbor who was using it as an infrequent second vehicle. It has been immaculately maintained, always garaged, but has had little use over the last 6 years, Since 2011 it has only been driven 7000 miles. There are obvious problems, no air (likely compressor) and a leaking radiator, but can I get some concrete suggestions about the first steps basic maintenance steps I need to take to keep this on the road for another 3-4 years. I was going to drain/replace all fluids, replace all filters, replace serpentine belt, address rad and air conditioner. Is there anything I am missing? I am especially new to this 2/4WD transmission system, is there anything there to be especially wary of? Thanks in advance.

All that sounds good and are good places to start. However. You have either a V-8 or a I-6. Another good place to start is to know which engine you have before you start buying any parts.

Cooling system. Since your replacing the radiator, put in a Mopar thermostat and a new water pump. Flush the system, including heater core.
And included in your fluid change should be transfer case, transmission fluid and differentials.

rockauto.com has a 195* Stant Superstat for $4! I've used Stant all my life with never a failure. I've had a couple stick from crap in the system, but that's all. Don't forget to order a gasket too. They don't come with them anymore, or get one locally.
