I have a 2007 Grand Cherokee Limited. Does not have factory uconnect.
I have a 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited wrecked car that has the Uconnect system in it. Both rigs have the same radio system and Boston Acustic systems. If I remove the uconnect mirror, wire loom, radio, and uconnect module from the 2005 and install it in the 2007 will I need to have the dealer flash the computer with the starscan to get the uconnect to work?

Thanks for the reply. But the link that you gave me doesn't really answer the question. I'm pretty sure the wiring loom is the same in both rigs but I have been told by a Dodge dealer that it "may" require a starscan flash to work and they are not sure that it will work even with the starscan flash.
So if anyone else on the forum can answer the question please let me know.

Well what about this one? http://www.wkjeeps.com/MyGIG_Lockpick.htm
Thanks for the reply. Yes this may help. But the dealer only charges $30 to do the starscan flash. But they are not sure if it will work or not.
I will contact these guys and see what they say.
Thanks again for your input.

Bob,
I have an '06 Grand Cherokee and I want to uninstall the unconnect feature. I got a new Pioneer nav system installed after the factory one died and it works great. However, uconnect keeps trying to pair with my phone, which it cannot since the system it was working through (the factory radio) is gone. I cannot 'unpair' it correctly. I'm trying to find the module to disconnect, and have taken half my car apart looking for it.
Since you seem to have been looking at reinstalling an system from one Cherokee to the next, I was hoping you could tell me where the system module is.
Appreciate the help.

sokkaleo,
I was never able to install the system in my Jeep. The wiring loom is all integrated with everything else so if the Uconnect was not factory installed you cannot put the module in the car and have it work.
Having said that I do know where the module is located and found several posting about it's location in the car. It is located in passenger side fire wall just in front of the passenger door. If you search on line you should be able to find some posting that show some pictures of where it is located. It is hard to find. As I recall you have to remove the glove box and it is just to the right above where glove box is located.
Hope this helps.
