Hi Everyone,

I just purchased a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. I have the radio that has the DVD option, but obviously the drop down screen was not added. I popped a DVD movie into the system, and it played beautifully. My question is, rather than shell out 800 bux for a factory installed DVD drop down screen, is there a way I can simply buy a small external screen and plug it in somewhere?

 

Yea, its pretty easy, u should be able to just get a screen, and in the back of the head unit, im assuming there is av out connections, were the cables just plugin into

 

If anyone has done this I'd sure like to know how.

 

I googled this pic, if this is in fact the back of dvd player you have then it looks like a simple S video cable but I would research it more

Either you can buy a factory overhead console with a screen or remove the console and install a flip down. Its pretty simple you just have to remove 85% of the interior to mount and run wireing.

 

Is there a way to access the back easy or do I need to remove the dash? I was hjoping it would be as easy as plugging something into the AUX jack

 

To run your wires correctly and hidden you have to run them acroos the headliner down the A pilar and across the dash to the head unit
