The one that turns the dome lights and key in iginition when door is open,
where is it located? I've looked around the perimeter of the door, looking for some kind of button with no luck.

I'm not really sure about your 99 but my 94 has push button switches in the door frame , black and hard to see. about 1/3 of the way up the inside of the door my the dash. Sorry if this is no help.. Glad to see another Vet me too.. 2 years in Nam.. Well not quite 22 months and 11 days... LOL but who was counting... 69 to 70..

jomkps, guess I'll take another look, but me nor my neighbor saw anything there.
94zjdriver, I only spent a year there 70-71, so it wasn't as bad as what you had.
My MOS was 1371 (combat engineer) meant I got to blow things up! gotta love C4.

there is a sensor or something that recognizes when your door is shut;
ex. If you shut the door my wj takes 30 seconds or however long for the interior lights to go off.
test....i used my finger to push the piece that releases or opens when you open or close door. when I pushed that piece in the lights turned off the same amount of seconds later....so there it is
