just bought a 98 grand cherokee and everything was fine but now all of a sudden the RR door won't open i can't even unlock it. i already removed the panel and everything looks fine, but i still can't unlock from inside the panel either. any help would be greatly appreciated.

power locks?

yeah but not even the power lock opens it

so you got a power lock switch? what does it sound like when you hit the button?

door lock mechanism just spins. but i put pressure on it and it works fine but it won't unlock. not even by pulling the actual metal bar.

...look at the lock itself.. lube it up

done that sprayed just about a can of wd40 let it soak and nothing

did you look at the lock itself or did you just spray a crap load of wd up in there?

hello i was gonna start a new thread for my question but my same door will not stay shut it will shut but the lock is too weak and when I go over a bump the back door opens and it rattles all the time not sure if it can be fixed or has to be replaced?....

i got the best look at it cause the door is closed but with the use of mirror i can see it pretty good. do you think it wise to just yank it out of there cause its pissing me off. can't use the door and its frustrating cause i have three kids so i really need the door
