Here is a great article by Andreas Ritterbusch at www.madxj.com It's for adjustable ball joints but the procedure is same for all others. http://www.madxj.com/MADXJ/technical...balljoints.htm
This is something I posted in the How To section awhile back. I didnt do the write up but it is an excellent source of info.

What i ran into was that the ball joints would not in strait. here is my full write up:

As with every vehicle that has the amount of mileage that ours have, its a crap shoot. What I mean is the "How To" instructions that some one else did on their vehicle may or may not go as smooth as yours will. Reason being is we all drive differently. Some choose to baby their rides while other flog the living ***** out of theirs. You might have a part down there that is bent and will give you hell during the removal. Then again, most probably, you don't. The point is, be prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

Yes I read your write up, you did all that on the trails?? I guess when your broke, your broke and cant move till its fixed. I have never had my ball joints come out looking like that though.
