Default delayed start in 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been in garage about 8 times with delayed start and NO ONE can find the issue. Jeep Corporation says they have NEVER heard of this and they have no resolution. Can you shed any light on this problem as am going to trade my Jeep since there is no fix.

Generally we deal with older jeeps but can you be more specific as to what you mean by delayed start? It cranks a long time before starting? Or you turn the key and get a delay before it starts to crank over?

And it's been to a jeep dealership 8 times or another outside mechanic? And you specifically spoke to Jeep corporate about this?

If there is a delay between turning the key and the starter engaging it is probably a failing relay and it is a common Mopar issue. There is a power center box in the engine compartment full of relays and fuses. Find the one marked as starter relay and swap it with another relay and see if the problem goes away.

Hi Vickie2017,

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. If your Jeep is currently in service, we can get a case opened up for you. You can message us your VIN at any time.

Vickie, you should probably send Kori a private message seeing as how he didn't give you a website to go to. Just click on his username and a drop-down box will appear.

Oh...and welcome to CF!

Unfortunately, Vickie hasn't been on the site since she posted. Hopefully she comes back since she started the thread.

Default Grand Cherokee 2012 - long crank

I own a jeep grand Cherokee 2012, it was in the garage recently because of heating issues, but when it got out a few days later, it started showing long crank issue.. when i click the start button, it just keeps cranking until it times out, then when i click it again it starts normally.
I tried to clean the air filter and changing the mass air sensor, but no use... I suspect that it might be a fuel pump issue, but its odd since the car was running perfectly and when it went to the garage things started to fail one after the other.
I need help.

Thanks

Mustafa

Update.
I changed the air flow sensor and the "Fuel pump relay". But the problem still persist.
I think the last thing to change is the fuel pump 🤪
