Dealer wants to replace the engine
2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee vith 3.7 V6
Started with check engine light and a P0303 code. Cyl #3 was misfiring . I changed the plugs and swapped the coils to other cylinders. the coil was good in the other cylinder . I took the car to the dealership. They swapped the injectors,.Compression and leakdown were both good. They said that the PCM was good. Breakdown of engine left side showed no wear on the valve cover, cam shaft and rockers. So the dealer has found nothing specific but wants me to buy a new engine. I dont understand how they can not show me the problem and because they supposedly eliminated every other possibility that it must now be engine mechanical and needs replacing. Of course the engine change exceeds the value of the car

Try asking in the GRAND Cherokee forum. Did they eliminate wiring to the injector as the problem?

Old fart with a wrench
It's just an easy out for them but very costly to you! I wouldn't let them off so easily. Not very good mechanics are they?
