The coolant low warning light on the dash of my 2000 Grand Cherokee WJ came on yesterday.
The engine temperaure gauge did not change at all so I wasn'y too worried.
Check the level in the coolant reservoir this morning and it wasn't particularly low. Topped it up with a 250cc anyways.
However the coolant low lights did not go out.
I had to drive 150 miles so decided to keep an eye on the engine temp gauge to see if there was a real issue.
Going by the gauge the engine ran slightly cooler even after the small coolant top-up. No other indications of an issue either aside from them coolant low light staying on.
Anyway have an idea what could be causing this?
IHow is the coolant level measured? Is there a stuck floater or something in the reservoir maybe?
