Default Control arm bushing replacement

Folks I am trying to help my grandson replace the bushings in his front control arms. The fella next door said to burn them out, since we don't have the right tool. How do you folks do it? He has a cherokee sport 1998. By the way I have been watching everyday since I joined a couple days ago and you folks are amazing in helping just wish more folks would do it them selves so they could save a bundle. Anyway thanks for any help.

Burning them is the easiest way to do it.

If you're replacing the bushings with stock rubber bushings you would be better off just replacing the whole control arm. But if you're replacing with poly, then burning them out works, a little smokey, but it works.

Folks he did it a little different, he used a hole saw and took out the center and then they were very easy to knock out. Put the poly's back in and all is good. Thanks for the help.

I included pictures so you guys can see what we are looking at. Those bushings will
Not I down any further. I'm
Starting to think that thu sent us the wron bushings in the hyper flex kit. Because een the bushing itself won't slide easily onto the mounting points back under the xj

I used them on my '61 chevy. Put them in the freezer for a while they should go right in.
