code reader advice needed, please
Can someone recommend a decent code reader, preferably under $100.00. This is just for occasional use and needs to work w/ a 1998 GC ( as well as others). Thanks

Alternatively, if you have a tablet or smartphone with Bluetooth, you can get an ELM327 adapter for under $40, and download the full version of Torque (for Android, anyhow) for about $5. Also works on pretty much any OBD-II vehicle, and will give you access to rather more data than you can get from an interrogator...

I recently purchased a Bluetooth scanner.. it plugs into the OBD2 port, and then with my android I can use the Torque app and use my phone as a reader. I can use it while I am driving and get real life codes and see what all the different scan items are doing.
They are available on Ebay for under $20.

But, the Torque app is [I]very/I] cool to me - I use the realtime data displays more than anything else, and I can catch problems before OBD does (I just diagnosed incipient HEGO failure in my wife's car, OBD hadn't thrown a code yet, but we've got our fuel mileage back! Now, I'm just waiting for a batch of ISO280 relays so she'll stop spiking fevers...)
