Well, I see a lot of threads out here that never get any type of resolution posted, so here goes.

It was the PCM after all. Ordered a re-manufactured one from
Auto Computer Exchange in FLA, pre-programmed with my VIN # and
mileage and it works like a charm. Shifts smoothly through all 4 gears.
It used to sputter a little when starting the engine, that has gone away
as well. $200 for the PCM with exchange. I am very pleased.

electrics are one of those dark areas where buy it could be anything.
so buy you putting your experiance on here it may help someone else having the same problem.
its not the fact that people cant be arsed, they are curios themselfs.

good result in the end tho.
