Default clicking noise when slowing down

Now that the engine is running right on my '95 GC, now I can hear a clicking coming from what appears to be the front (could be the middle) that only occurs when going in a straight line. As soon as I turn to go around a corner, the clicking stops. I hear it mainly when slowing down but it is there when accelerating it's just not nearly as loud. It is rythmic and increases in pace with road speed. After about 35 mph you really can't hear it.

What in the world is causing this? It confuses me since it only clicks when going straight and mainly when slowing down.

My guess is to check the CV joint (if equipped) in your front drive-shaft. I had the one in my '97 replaced with a u-joint-slip collar equipped drive-shaft.

I found out what the cause of the clicking noise was. It was the left front CV joint!! I took the driveshaft off this afternoon because the clicking had gotten REALLY bad. After I took it off I discovered that I could grab the diff and rotate the input of it with no resistance!! Low and behold I see the left axle turning but I can't see the CV joint at all. It looks like it just exploded cause the boot is badly damaged too.
