Default Check engine light coming on

I have a 2008 jeep grand Cherokee overland hemi and for the past year my check engine light keeps coming on. Have taken it several times to my mechanic and have had a few of the sensors changed. I can feel when the engine "doesn't feel right" and the. The light comes back on. Am stumped and so is mechanic why this keeps happening. Anyone else have this issue and if so what could it be??? Help

Welcome to CF!

The first thing you need to do is read the diagnostic codes stored in the computer. Your mechanic should be able to read those with a scan tool. Then get back to us. "Doesn't feel right" doesn't mean much to us. It's very difficult to diagnose what's wrong without information.

Have a nice day.

Okay, there has been some discussion about this code. It seems to do with the 02 sensors switching too slow from rich to lean. This may be caused by defective wiring or a sensor itself. Which one? Probably either or both of the front sensors. This will give your mechanic somewhere to start anyway. If these have already been changed, check the wiring and plugs.

Yes Dave my mechanic has changed the front sensors twice now and just had it in last week he wanted to check over the wiring harnesses said everything looked good he said he likes a challenge but my jeep has him stumped.im going to put a new gas cap on and see if that works if not I'll try taking it to the dealership and have them tweet the updates and if that doesn't work I'll just keep clearing the code . I plan on selling or trading it next year for a newer jeep but this time I won't be getting a hemi
