Changing the ECU
Hello, thanks for any help you have. I just got a 2005 Grand Cherokee with the 5.7 Hemi and I have been told the ECU is junk. In the past when changing the ECU on other Dodge vehicles I have had to buy a "Kit', thats the ECU, any Keys and the transponder thats around the ignition key slot on the steering column. is it the same for this car? I'm in the UK.

The ECU, or rather PCM, powertrain control module; can be replaced without the need for keys or transponder. The PCM needs to be 'Flashed' with a specific scanner that embeds the needed specs and processes on the PCM.
hi, I changed the ECU for a new one from ARES technology. now at least it start6s and runs, but only for 3 seconds then it shuts down. Also a fauly code CAN BUS C pops up now. also it says something about the SKIM?
